Though not always visible, wildlife is plentiful in the desert southwest. We were fortunate to see some at Zion, like this mother mule deer and her fawn.
And this huge tarantula, in its own way, was equally elegant.
The Virgin River has carved this extraordinary canyon.
The striations and colors of the rock are so emotionally powerful and intricate that only a hundred years of meditation among them would give you a start in taking them in. It even seems too little to look at each photograph so quickly and then move on to the next. Looking forever would be better.
