10-4-2016 Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah

Today we traveled to Bryce Canyon National Park, where we learned that Bryce Canyon is not a canyon but a series of  fourteen huge amphitheaters.  Erosion has carved the pastel and white limestone of the amphitheaters into extraordinary rock towers and pinnacles, some of which are hundreds of feet tall, called hoodoos.

We hiked to the bottom of one of the amphitheaters.
