We left the Bryce Canyon area this morning and took Utah Scenic Byway 12 through the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. It is an astonishing mix of ancient seabed, desert, canyons, forests, and mountains rising to 9,600 feet above sea-level.
We stopped at the Anasazi State Park Museum near Boulder, Utah. The park includes an excavated pueblo in addition to a pit house.
Real cowboys rounding up real cows.
All right--cowboys. The roads all look so empty and in the scenic shots there aren't any people, I got to thinking that you two are all alone out there. Not like the crowded Chicago area. Just Anne, Jim, and super spectacular rocks.
