We were intending to go directly to Dinosaur National Monument, but instead took a detour through Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area.
We just had time for a short visit to Dinosaur National Monument visitor center today (seen here at the base of the white mountain). We will spend the entire day here tomorrow.
Humans lived here thousands of years ago. These petroglyphs are about a thousand years old.
We briefly hiked a trail...
...and nearly stepped on this guy.
Then we headed to our motel in...
